Sony Providing August Security Patches in Xperia Smartphones:- Sony has started giving its new security patch update to its Xperia Smartphone holders. Starting with the Xperia XA2 devices.

XA2, XA2 Plus, and XA2 Ultra were the first devices to get it. This update moved them from version 50.2.A.0.379 to 50.2.A.0.400. The update could be with security patch of July or August. It depends upon the model.

Other updates with August patches include the Xperia XZ2 Series which includes XZ2, XZ2 Compact, XZ2 Premium, and XZ3 ended build number 52.0.A.8.131. The Xperia L2 also saw an update with firmware number 49.0.A.6.90. 

Sony has released new firmware to a number of handsets including the latest Xperia 1 (which is a flagship smartphone model) with built no. 55.0.A.6.16, and Xperia 10 mid-rangers with 53.0.A.8.71.

The update might take little time to reach your device so be patient.

Remember the update is just regarding the security so don’t expect some fancy additional features. This update increases your smartphone protection from potentially newer threats such as spams, malware, viruses, trojans, etc. For better protection of device information please update.
